Whistle while you work…

14 dpiui

Two full weeks since I was propped up in the stirrups.  I’d like to welcome today’s guests, The 7 Dwarfs of the Two Week Window: Queasy, Sleepy, Crampy, Weepy, Burpy, Achy, and Boobs.

I keep asking them why they’re here and if they are harbingers of good or of ill, but they remain resolutely silent.  I’m not certain who put in the work order for them to arrive.  If it was HCG and Prometrium working together to give me a little poke in the side for all the bad things I’ve said about them, then I’m in trouble.  But if BellyBean sent them to keep me company while I wait for him/her, then that’s another story.

Instead of responding to my questions about who sent them, they all take turns poking pins in a voodoo doll of me.    Sometimes more than one at a time.  Currently, it appears that Queasy, Sleepy and Burpy have got the doll and are using my leftover mixing syringes on my stomach and esophagus.  Overnight, Crampy and Boobs had the doll and weren’t giving it up for anything.  Sleepy just sat on my chest and wouldn’t let me out of bed until half an hour after my alarm.  They seem to be getting a little more aggressive with it, too.  Bigger needles?  More at a time? Wiggling them around a bit?  Yep, yep and yep.

They’re welcome to stay.  In fact, they’re MORE than welcome to stay.  I’ll set up little cots for them in the guest room for when they’re off duty and make them beef stew and blueberry muffins. At the same time, I don’t want to go to the trouble unless they plan on staying for several months.  If they’re just here to torture me for a bit for the next few days, then I hope they lose the doll for a while so I can get some peace.

  1. Since I’m a new reader, I don’t know your personal testing policy, so forgive me if this question is out of line… but… I have to ask…. When are you going to test?

  2. Not out of line at all! I’m happy to clarify.

I have a beta scheduled for Friday and won’t test before then.

I once calculated that I’ve spent enough on pee sticks to buy a new 40 inch HDTV. So I gave it up. My other big reason is that I had an HCG shot last Wednesday that is still in my system.

Totally respect the pee-ers, but it just makes me stress more, so I don’t.

  3. I hear ya! I’ve banned myself from calculating pee stick costs, as I’m sure it’s up there (good ol’ wacked out PCOS & endo cycles really mess with a girl’s head!). My rule is no testing before cd50 on natural cycles (like that’ll ever work), and waiting for the beta on treatment cycles, so I can definitely relate to your rule!

I’ll be quietly cheering you on, and patiently(?) awaiting Friday’s results…

  4. If the Dwarves are staying, I’ll be your one-woman virtual casserole brigade.

You’re in my thoughts as I wait for the furnace repair people today.

  5. bellybean, I love it. I hope your new guests are there to stay.

I hate reading too much into symptoms because I have been duped so many times before, and the side effects of meds can be deceiving. remind me, though, are you even on progesterone?

I am holding out lots of hope for you. it sounds very promising…

also wanted to thank you so much for your continued support, it means a lot.

  6. anna–thanks for being my cream of mushroom soup connection!

Luna–yeah, I’m on suppositories until told otherwise. One in the AM, on in the PM.

I hate reading into symptoms, too. I wish the dwarves would just fess up.

  7. I really, really, really hope you’re pregnant!

  8. Not that I am glad you are uncomfortable, but a few of those things the dwarves are doing give me some real optimism for you!!!
bellybean is so clever, I love how you write!

  9. I’ve got everything crossed for you. Friday can’t get here soon enough!

  10. I really hope this is it!! Will be looking forward to hearing good news about the bellybean.

  11. ditto what everyone else said.. i will be checking your blog every five seconds on friday. i hope those dwarves are getting cozy for a long stay!

  12. Cute. 🙂 I hope they’re good things and not evil med things. 😦

  13. Sounds promising! I have all my fingers and all my toes crossed for a Bellybean!

  14. enough to buy a tv? What kind of hpts are you buying? Like diamond studded hpts made of 14k gold? heh. I would like to introduce you to the 50 cent hpts that I buy. I can obsess like mad for an entire cycle and only spend $5.

Well, maybe you looked at the price of the hdtvs at the dollar store and they were just super cheap.

So you got a booster last wed? That’s really late! a 9dpo booster? How much did you get?

And – what is your normal LP? If I made it to 14dpIUI, I know I’d be pregnant because I have a 12 day luteal phase. Without fail, no matter how much hcg boosters I get or how much progesterone I take (200mg/day), I get my period on 13dpo. EVERY.TIME.

So you being 14dpiui, does this give you good hope? Damn it! we were supposed to be cycle buddies! And you go and get pregnant. heh. That’s okay! I’ll just have to get pregnant with IVF#1 and we’ll be 7w2d apart. Still enough time for me to share trimesters with you! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  15. okay, that was a huge comment. Can’t I leave my comments nice and short?

  16. Hoping and praying that your 7 little dwarfs settle in for a long, long stay. 🙂

  17. You are absolutely adorable. And what a good description. I have definitely been in your spot before. My cramps came mostly at night too. Is there something to that? Rooting for you that it is all worth it!

  18. WELL i am positively HOPING!!!

  19. Yes, Nancy. Solid gold with testing strips created at NASA. They came with a free grill. Nah, I spent tons on FRER over the first 5 years, then on Dollar Tree Tests. I stopped just short of buying the online cheapies.

It’s great to know so many people (even some I don’t know! Welcome!) are cheering me on.

I’ll only drive you crazy for 3 more days!

  20. 14 days post without bleeding would be suggestive in my book. But my personal book includes a shit LP.

    Good luck,

  21. I’ve missed some while on vacation. I loved that post. You are such an entertaining blogger, chica! I hope you are preggo and stay that way so a long long time. I am not a POASer. I tested the day of the beta so I can mentally prepare. I will be checking in on you A LOT this week! Can’t wait for Friday’s party!
